Thankfully, California has some excellent options for year-round Christmas shopping. If you need to buy a gnome or some Rudolph yard ornament in the middle of March, we’ve got you covered!
The Holiday Shoppe is a year round Christmas store in the San Francisco area that never struggles with a shortage of whimsical ornaments.
This shop prides itself on being family operated and featuring a wide array of local and international artists.
City Lights, which has been operating for over 30 years, has a tagline that we fully endorse — “year round Christmas.” In addition to a massive, 40,000 square foot retail location, City Lights Collectibles operates a website with a seemingly unlimited inventory.
In addition to Christmas decor and ornaments, you can find Christmas lights as well as decor for almost any holiday you can think of.
What’s not to love about a year-round Christmas store located just steps from Big Bear Lake? While this Christmas store doesn’t allow for online shopping, the selection of Jim Shore figurines is tough to beat.
Jule Hus (Danish for “Christmas House”) is a beloved shop that is not only charming, but is located in one of America’s great Christmas towns, and right next door to a bakery no less.
If you want to visit a great year-round Christmas store in a great year-round Christmas town, Jule Hus in Solvang is perhaps second to none.
In addition to a great retail location, Traditions has an excellent online storefront (on a domain name, ChristmasTraditions.com, which we are frankly quite envious of!).
In addition to Christmas, Traditions sells decorations for most holidays, with an emphasis on Halloween. Customers love the wide selection, including more vintage options than you would expect.
For anyone in the LA-area, Christmas Traditions is worth a visit — any day of the year!
Small but charming is the best way to describe this year-round Christmas store that is approaching its 40th anniversary. This store does a great job of maintaining a personal touch, so if you’re tired of big box stores this may be just the place for you!
While the above Christmas stores offer year-round holiday shopping, the Roger’s Gardens Holiday Boutique is seasonal only. However, Roger’s Gardens starts up their Christmas season in early October (which we fully support!).
The store looks absolutely beautiful during the Christmas season, so anyone that is tired of junk shops and antique malls will love the ambience.
Simply put, Roger’s Gardens goes all-out, so you will have to see the displays to truly understand the magic. But for anyone not in the area, there is a 3D virtual tour accessible on the website.
There are many great Christmas markets in the state of California, but it is challenging to find any better than the Cambria’s. The market is only open for a month, but it features millions of Christmas lights, vendors, train rides, live music, and much more.
Simply put, this place takes the Christmas season very seriously. If you want to do your Christmas shopping among a beautiful holiday setting, the Cambria Christmas Market should be on your wish list.
Unfortunately, a few Christmas institutions in California are no longer operational. Kristopher Kyer’s “Christmas Corner” was a beloved pop-up store for over a decade, but has now shifted to an online-only model. Mistletoe at Seaport Village has recently closed down, as well.
Despite this, California has a number of excellent options for Christmas shopping, including quite a few Christmas stores that are open year-round! California is a bit spoiled — Jule Hus, Traditions, and City Lights are some of the top Christmas shops you could find in any state.
These Christmas stores in California offer a delightful shopping experience, where you can discover a wide range of holiday decorations, ornaments, and gifts to make your Christmas season truly special.
